Commonly known as Silk Road this spectacular, vigorous Oriental-Trumpet lily produces large, strongly fragrant, outward-facing flowers. The blooms are creamy white with a rich crimson-red to deep pink throat that radiates out along the centre of each petal. Tall, sturdy stems make this an impressive architectural lily for the back of borders as well as an excellent cut flower.

Planting and Care Information
Planting and Care Information
Planting Instructions: Plant bulbs approximately 15–20 cm deep in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil, spacing them around 20–30 cm apart. Planting in groups creates the strongest display. Choose a position where the flowers receive good light while the roots remain relatively cool. Because established plants can become very tall, stake stems early where additional support is required.
Soil and Drainage Requirements: Loam, Sandy, Chalk; moist but well-drained; Neutral to Alkaline
Preferred Location: Full sun or Partial shade; East, South or West facing; Sheltered
Care: Keep the soil adequately moist during active growth without allowing it to become waterlogged. Feed during the growing season. Deadhead spent flowers but leave the stems and foliage intact until they yellow and die back naturally. Established clumps can remain undisturbed for several years. Monitor for lily beetle and its larvae.
