Nearly a Century of Experience
Since 1927, Jacques Amand Wholesale has specialised in sourcing and supplying flower bulbs from some of Europe's most respected growers.
Over the decades, we've worked with professional growers, garden designers, landscapers, local authorities, retailers and home gardeners, building long-term relationships founded on trust, consistency and quality.
Whilst horticulture has evolved considerably over the years, our commitment remains unchanged: to supply carefully selected bulbs backed by knowledgeable service and honest advice.
How We Select Our Bulbs
Quality begins long before your order reaches our warehouse.
We work closely with experienced specialist growers who share our commitment to producing healthy, high-quality bulbs.
These relationships have often been developed over many years and allow us to source varieties that meet the standards our customers expect.
Before products are dispatched, every order is prepared and checked with care before despatch to ensure that bulbs are:
- correctly identified;
- supplied true to name;
- commercially graded where appropriate;
- carefully packed for transport.
Our aim is simple—to ensure your order arrives ready for successful planting.
Living Products
One of the things we love most about bulbs is that every one is unique.
Unlike manufactured products, bulbs are living organisms and naturally vary according to the variety, growing conditions and season.
Differences in size, shape or appearance are entirely normal and are not an indication of poor quality.
Many bulbs are supplied during their natural dormant period. Whilst they may appear dry or inactive on arrival, this is exactly how healthy bulbs should look before planting.
Occasionally we decide not to supply bulbs that do not meet our own commercial quality standards. We'd rather disappoint you with a delay than knowingly supply stock that doesn't meet our expectations.
Did You Know?
Healthy bulbs are often supplied dormant.
Dormancy is a natural stage in the bulb's lifecycle that helps protect the plant until conditions are right for growth.
True to Name
Whether you're creating a colourful border at home or planting thousands of bulbs for a public display, knowing that you've received the correct variety is essential.
Every effort is made to ensure our products are accurately labelled and supplied true to name.
If we ever make a mistake, we'll work with you promptly and fairly to put things right.
Helping You Achieve the Best Results
Our responsibility doesn't end when your order leaves us.
To help your bulbs thrive, we provide seasonal planting advice, growing guides and ongoing support throughout the year.
Bulbs should be unpacked as soon as possible after delivery and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place until planting.
Our website also contains practical guidance to help you choose the right varieties and achieve the best possible displays.
Growing Success
Flowering performance depends upon many factors beyond our control, including:
- soil type;
- drainage;
- planting depth;
- weather conditions;
- storage after delivery;
- pests and diseases;
- ongoing care.
Whilst we take every care to supply healthy bulbs that are true to name, we cannot guarantee flowering performance once products have been planted.
However, if you have any concerns about the quality of your order, we encourage you to contact us. Our experienced team will always do their best to help.
Serving Every Customer
