Planting and Care Information
Planting and Care Information
Planting Instructions: Plant bulbs in autumn or spring, approximately 15–20 cm deep, in fertile, humus-rich but well-drained soil. Lilies perform particularly well with their flowers in sun and their roots kept cool by surrounding planting. Because 'Black Beauty' can become very tall, choose a position where the stems can be supported if necessary.
Soil and Drainage Requirements: Clay, Loam, Sandy Soil; Moist but well drained; Acid to Neutral
Preferred Location: Full sun or Partial shade; East, South or West facing; Sheltered
Care: Maintain moisture during active growth without allowing the bulbs to become waterlogged. Feed during the growing season. Deadhead after flowering but leave stems and foliage intact until they yellow and die back naturally. Stake tall stems where necessary and watch for lily beetle and its larvae.
