  • Iridaceae

Crocuses are compact cormous perennials with slender leaves, often marked by a silvery central stripe, and colourful goblet-shaped flowers. Depending on the species, they flower in autumn, winter or early spring and are ideal for naturalising in lawns, borders and containers. The chrysanthus varieties are delightful hybrids producing smaller flowers than the Dutch Large Flowering kind but in a much wider range of colours and combinations as well as flowering a little earlier usually in February to March.
