Ginger family grown indoors as house plants but can be put outdoors in the UK during the warm summer months. Plant in a loam based, well drained soil mix. Water moderately and feed every couple of weeks with a liquid feed. Minimum winter temp is 12°C. The flowers appear before the leaves. The leaves are very attractive and in the summer can grow to 45cm.
