Crocosmias increase well in the garden if left undisturbed and are also good for using as cut flowers. Plant 10cm deep. They enjoy full sun and can be used for cut flower, although they will also grow well in semi shade in most soils that are free draining. Does not do well in very alkaline soils. Leave to naturalise undisturbed for a number of years in the garden.

These stunning flowers are an attractive orange to brick red.
Probably the most attractive of this genus, the flowers have rich velvety petals of chocolate maroon, complimented by the unmistakable scent of dark chocolate.
