A large number of species, flowering in either Winter, Autumn or Spring. They are also known as naked ladies. Although not related, the blooms resemble large crocuses, and so are commonly, but erroneously, referred to as Autumn Crocus. The majority flower in the Autumn and therefore should be ordered as early as possible and planted immediately upon arrival, 10-15cm deep and 20-25cm apart, in a sunny, well drained position.
