Commonly called Flory of the Snow, the true nomenclature of some species has become very confused in recent years. C. luciliae is now renamed C. forbesii, C. gigantea should now be known as C. luciliae and so on.
Which is now further complicated as the whole genus has now been reclassified as Scilla section Chionodoxa. For the present, we are still listing them as Chionodoxa as this is how they are known by most people.
Whatever their technically correct identity is, all are perfect for naturalising in sun or partial shade. They are amongst the first bulbs to appear each Spring.
